I'm Teng. I play soccer, point cameras at people, and ask math to explain things. This is where those habits meet.

A game to cover, a photo story to make, a community event to help with, or a real problem to model? I'd love to get involved. I'm especially interested in media, sports, and mathematical modeling. If you're putting a team together, I'd be happy to bring a camera, some ideas, and a willingness to learn.
I'm a student at Chengdu Foreign Languages School, usually somewhere between a soccer pitch, a camera, and a math problem.
Soccer keeps turning into other projects. I led four seasons of the Momentix Cup and turned matches and conversations into reporting, photography, and print through PLAYGROUND, ChrisMomentum, and Rush & Record. One interest, quite a few tabs open.
Working on family photographs made me rethink the urge to fill every gap. I started leaving some areas faded, so there was room for my family's different memories.
I've played the erhu for nine years and practice calligraphy and drawing. Playing “Jiang He Shui” at my grandmother's memorial became a way to return to the same music with a different understanding of grief.
I identify as Maverique: my sense of gender is independent of male or female. I have also questioned the gendered expectations I grew up with. Walking with my grandfather, matching his pace, and taking him to the park helped me understand responsibility through attention to another person's needs.
I work across sports media, photography, mathematical modeling, engineering, and community projects. This interactive portfolio uses JavaScript. You can also explore my technical portfolio and soccer reporting.
